Why Can't We Do Borders?

 Why Can't We Do Borders?

I don’t understand. We seem to have a big problem with Borders. Iraq is having daily if not hourly explosions from IED’s coming across the borders of Syria and Iran. We know they came from Iran because they are much more sophisticated than the old wired artillery shells and contain shaped charges only a government military could acquire. Foreign terrorist seem to have few problems coming into Iraq.

We haven’t been able to stop them. What’s the problem? Not enough troops on the ground? Too few mine fields? Too many lawyers questioning the tactics of our troops? Confusing rules of engagement?

Could it be our leadership doesn’t have the resolve to get serious and win? Are borders important? Why are we pretending to protect them? Are our troops getting the same type of zealot prosecution the 2 Border Patrol Agents received for covering up an incursion into West Texas and shooting a drug smuggler in the rear end?

The President and some Governors sent the National Guard to the borders with orders to do paper work and retreat if they encountered bad guys with guns.

I have never seen any successful organization that told its employees to pretend to do something and we’ll pretend to back you.

Our government has lost control of our borders in Iraq and in the U.S. The government has lost the ability to instill fear needed to stop our enemies from crossing borders and killing Americans. It’s stupid to draw a line in the sand and pretend it means anything if it doesn’t. Narco-terrorist, possible Islamic terrorists and smugglers on our borders with Mexico are as dangerous as Iranian Agents and Islamic Terrorist crossing into Iraq.

I pray the changes made in Iraq will work and the lessons learned will be used on the US Border. Maybe we need to issue entrenching tools to the Border Patrol Agents to bury shell casings and fire some zealot government prosecutors. I’ve seen the war on the border with my on eyes and I know we’ve lost if changes aren’t made, soon.

Maybe we should stop pretending and get serious.
